Beware of Scams

How to stay safe online.

Updated over a week ago

Scammers will try to deceive you. If someone prompts you to enter your PIN after getting a message from ChitChat or your sim card provider, be cautious. By entering this PIN, you might unintentionally authorise a transaction and risk losing your money.

Remember: An OTP from ChitChat should only come when you initiate a payment and are awaiting the code. No other reason.

If someone calls you asking for an OTP or PIN, it's a red flag 🚩. Always hang up, and report the caller's number to the Police or relevant authorities. Stay safe and vigilant!

If you get a call from someone purpoting to be from ChitChat and you think something is wrong, hang up and then get in touch with us in the app.
